What do you get when you combine Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with the Star Wars universe? Director Zack Snyder answers that question with the trailer for Dark Side Knight Vs. Super Jedi: Dawn of the Alliance: Batman vs Superman vs Star Wars.
Zack Snyder has shared the trailer for Dark Side Knight Vs. Super Jedi: Dawn of the Alliance on Vero, a video mixing scenes from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with the Star Wars universe. The trailer features Superman as a Jedi and Batman as a member of the dark side of the Force. In this alternate version of the superheroes, they brandish lightsabers while in the distance you can see the Death Star accompanied by a Star Destroyer, as well as Imperial Soldiers, the X-Wing starfighter, Darth Vader's suit, and even the Millennium Falcon throughout several scenes. Unfortunately, the ending finishes right at the best part, when Batman quotes the famous line "Tell me, do you bleed? You will" altered into a Sith version: "Tell me, do you accept the dark side? You will."
It is well known that Zack Snyder is a big Star Wars fan, and at some point there were rumors that he might direct a new film in the franchise. In fact, the production of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice took place during the filming of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, where Snyder and J. J. Abrams posted several mashup images and videos of the two franchises. Snyder first posted a photo of Batman with a red lightsaber, as he is excited about the imminent release of Rogue One, and now the director and producer of the DC Extended Universe travels to a galaxy far, far away with this impressive trailer for Dark Side Knight Vs. Super Jedi: Dawn of the Alliance. And while we're at it, don't forget that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will hit theaters on December 16, 2016.
