The Web offers many sites dedicated to generating random data, but maybe you'd like a similar solution stored on your hard drive. For those cases, we have Randomizer, a completely portable and free program.
More than once we've needed a random piece of data. Whether it's a number, a color, a card, or a word pulled from a list, all these parameters lose their random potential if we intervene directly. That's when we need to make room for software. Password generators in several password managers offer the ability to incorporate elements like mouse movement and keyboard strokes to create a random string, and if it's just a number, the result can be adjusted as well. Another option is to go online and visit sites like Random.org, which is full of tools for getting numbers, dice, and cards.
Finally, we come to local programs, and one of them is Randomizer. Among its functions are cards, coin tosses, colors, dates, dice, numbers, words, and lists. When it comes to words and lists, you'll need to load your own material, but with the rest you can set parameters instantly. The dice are six-sided, and Randomizer 'throws' a maximum of four at a time. Something similar happens with cards, whose limit is five. Colors are divided into RGB format, and numbers (also four, like the dice), go from 0 to 9999.
Randomizer is a free application that requires no installation and has no local dependencies. One detail to keep in mind is its relationship with antivirus software. Because of how it works, some security solutions might see the executable as a malicious element. That's exactly what happened during our testing, when Bitdefender Free declared Randomizer a "suspicious process". Even so, VirusTotal reports a perfect "0 out of 53", so the program is safe.
